Fear is an unpleasant emotion usually caused by the threat of pain, danger, or harm. Fear is a common emotion that every individual experiences in their lives or say that runs through all of our lives. But if we leave a big space for fear to enter our lives and if we let it in often, it will make us long for predictability and comfort more and when we do this it prevents us from reaching our fullest potential. This fear can make you live unfulfilled yet afraid to pursue anything better in life. This is very dangerous for your growth but there is a way that fear can serve a valuable purpose and help us break through the frustration to achieve the life we want. It all depends on you, if you allow fear to become a tool that will help you find fulfillment, you can do it.


Here are some tips for how to stop living in fear:


Try to find out the source of your anxiety:

Find the source of your anxiety. Make a list and divide them. Try to find solutions to get into the root of it. In order to stop living in fear, you must first recognize what is causing your distress and then work on those areas to improve them.


Change your mindset:

When you determine the source of your anxiety, it is to help you assert power over those fears so that they no longer control you. Identifying the source of your fear can change the story and even your mindset. When you see difficult situations as learning opportunities and not obstacles, this will make you stronger. So take charge of your life and learn to move toward your goals without any fear.


Overcome your limiting beliefs:

If you start thinking your goals are unattainable, your thoughts will come true. By the above statement, it means to be realistic and at the same time overcome your limiting beliefs, which means if one way doesn’t work, try another way, work harder and then achieve your goals but don’t limit yourself.


Have a growth mindset:

People who think their goals are beyond their abilities live in fear and set for less, settling for a life they didn't want. But people who have achieved success have a growth mindset. Think that your abilities are flexible and not fixed. And when there are obstacles, you work harder, you try harder. You for new strategies and keep seeking solutions unless you achieve your goals.

Take the experience as a lesson:

Any kind of experience, any kind of pain and suffering, take that as a lesson as this can help you refine what you want and what you don’t want in life. These experiences can be used in reflecting and realizing that you need to choose another way to reach the same goal or try it in a different way. In order to achieve what you want, you first need to learn how to stop living in fear.


Practice mindfulness meditation:

From changing your posture and adapting a power pose to practicing mindfulness mediation, all these activities will make you feel more confident and less fearful. Replace your negative emotions with positive ones:

Remember fear and positive emotions can’t co-exist together. You can’t be fearful and joyful at the same time nor can be scared and feel gratitude at the same time. Instead, you can replace one with the other, when you are joyful, fear disappears and joy appears in abundance. Shift your focus from negative to positive as when you change your mindset you will bring more positivity to your life and less fear.


Put a full stop to excuses:

When you are living in fear you will find excuses comfortable. People either use excuses or blame and use it as a defense mechanism to avoid facing problems. But, if you continue to do that in no time you will push your dreams, hopes, and desires aside. Instead of making excuses and hiding behind them, start taking action and move forward. The next time an excuse crosses your mind, just ask a few questions to yourself like are you where you always wanted to be? Or you are settling for less because you are choosing comfort over facing challenges. Put an end to excuses and start becoming master of your own destiny. Life is full of endless opportunities.


Live in the moment:

Fear is either escalated by the thoughts of the future or the worries of the past. Neither your past defines your present nor the worries of the future define it unless you try to live in both. Stop fantasizing and start living. Live in the present moment, go get a sport or your favorite pass time. Spend time with your family or do something that makes you feel alive the most.


Failed in an attempt, try for another:

Remember failing is inevitable, even after all this work, you still need to accept this fact, as it is a part of the process. And if you see failure as a failure in an attempt and not as a failure completely this will make things easier and it will keep you going. Failing in an attempt is just a way to correct the faulty ways of approaching a problem.
