Solitude is a feeling of blissfulness despite being alone without feeling lonely which can lead to self-awareness. Whereas, loneliness is a state marked by isolation, despite being around people when one feels lonely and isolated it is known as loneliness. Loneliness is enforced and solitude is voluntary. Solitude is when you feel happy and blissful inside. It is a state when an individual enjoys their's own company and all the pleasure around. Solitude allows an individual to have increased self-awareness and get greater insights, and think more creatively. On the other hand, loneliness is a negative state of mind which can be painful. It is a state in which an individual feels unwanted, estranged, unimportant, and isolated from people. A person can feel lonely even when surrounded by friends and family. This leads to self-rejection, despair, and self-loathing.


By taking some measures you can turn loneliness into solitude which is an enjoyable state that will not only fill your heart with happiness and joy but will lead to overall well-being.


Here are some simple ways to transform loneliness into solitude:


Meditate:

Meditation has a number of benefits. If you want to enjoy your own company start with meditation, feel yourself, and feel within. Meditation helps you clear your mind, improve focus and lessen the pain caused by the stress in daily life. Giving a few minutes to meditation can help you calm your nerves and help you gain mental clarity. Some benefits include, you will be more attentive to everything around you and feel more peaceful and less worried.


Exercise:

Exercise helps to improve both your physical and mental health. Exercising on a regular basis can lower the risk of heart disease, lung problems, diabetes, and many other health conditions. Exercise helps to release happy hormones which even benefit your mental health.



Make learning a pastime:

Learning new things will always be the best thing to do. You are neither too old nor too young to learn something new. In order to enjoy time alone invest the time in learning. Be it the simple things or the most complex, start it today. There are plenty of things to learn and a curious mind will never find time to feel lonely or bored.


Let your inner child be out:

Let your inner child be out and enjoy your own company. Being an adult doesn't mean you cannot enjoy all the things that once you did as a kid, all you need to do is to move out of that thoughts and play your heart out. Any games or fun things that you did when you were a child, be it watching cartoons or cycling, you can allow yourself to do it again. Your inner child never dies, all you need to do is to nurture your inner child and by doing this you can invite fun into your life.


Add enjoyable activities to your routine:

Any activity that makes you happy add it to your routine. Be it dancing, singing, writing, painting, cooking, or playing any games. Indulge in those activities as frequently as possible. And you will realize that when you indulge in your favorite activity, time passes by quickly and there is no space or time to feel loneliness.


Remember happiness is a state of mind and it starts with you, you can find happiness around when you feel the happiness within. And when you learn to be self-reliant on your happiness you will never feel lonely. In fact, you will enjoy solitude, you will find peace in your own company.
